Residents have one more alternative to managing their HHW versus disposing of it in their trash. Environmental Enterprises Inc. owns and operates a collection facility in Columbus, one block south of the Ohio State Fairgrounds. The address is 1249 Essex Ave. From I-71, take the 11th Street Exit, turn west to Essex St. Turn left onto Essex and right onto East 8th St. Enter the parking lot at 645 East 8th St.

The price to drop off materials is $50 per car (including SUVs) and $100 per truck (including vans). Examples of acceptable materials are pesticides, fertilizers, solvents, thinners, paints, pool or lawn chemicals, cleaners, batteries, prescription drugs, fire extinguishers, propane tanks, mercury, florescent bulbs, driveway sealer, gasoline, antifreeze, motor oil, and thermostats.
